I don't follow for a follow, unless we have the same taste in things, but that doesn't make you any less awesome! :) Also, if I follow you, please don't feel obligated to follow back. Life is too short to suffer through an ugly dash.

PIRATE WOMANIFESTO
Pirates move on the water. The element in which the primal
feminine is at home. It seems that at sea, women have the home
advantage. Women on board ships were either feared or
regarded as bringers of luck. Pirate women were considered
especially dangerous, and accepted as leaders at a time when
women on land had been robbed of their rights and dignity. We
pirates set sail for new shores into a world of adventures.
Breaking out of structured obedience, preset orders and moral
unities. We plunge into unpredictability, danger, excitement,
dance, song and everything that strong, free, cheerful action
implies. A pirate has developed her own kind of pirate life,
determined by her self and no other. Under the Jolly Roger, the
black sea robber's flag, pirates show what it means to live in a
permanently actualizing process of individualization and
liberation. The love, loyalty and friendship that we have found
in our pirate sisterhood springs from nothing less than a serious
attempt to find a form of life that can fulfill the piratical desire
for truth and freedom.

There’s a really great article called “How To Go Vegan” that came out in The New York Times Well Blog on Monday 1/14.
It was written by Tara Parker-Pope. She was inspired to go vegan after Bill Clinton, and offers some really great advice for newbies. The article focuses more on replacing pantry items with vegan products. She emphasizes transitioning into veganism, which I believe is the most effective way to go vegan. I went vegan overnight once I learned about animal rights, but everyone is different.
If you’ve spent your whole life as an omnivore, going vegan overnight isn’t always possible. If you’re hard on yourself, it’s easier to relapse. In the same way restrictive diets don’t last, a vegan diet will not if you deny yourself the foods you love. If you find yourself still craving non-vegan foods, look into replacing them with vegan alternatives.
As this article points out “trying to recapture something and find an exact substitute is really hard. But after you get away from eating meat for a while, you’ll find you start to develop other tastes. It won’t taste like meat, but you’ll appreciate it for itself.”
It’s a good, informative read. Check it out! Click HERE to read. #VegansofIG
I wanted to wish everyone a very happy holidays! I found these cute Xmas ornaments from Rhythms of Grace Gallery and I had to share.
In other news, I’m curious to see what happens to Instagram in the weeks to come. If ads do appear based on my content, it better be an ad for Beyond Meat or Dr. Bronner’s. (I curse the day twitter started including promoted tweets for McDonald’s in my feed.) We shall see…
I have no problem with people sharing what I post. This account is for all things vegan, and if that opens a few new hearts and minds, I’m happy. :)
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Amy. #VegansofIG
I’m about to get dressed and drive there in twenty minutes. :)

Pigs are more intelligent than a 3 year old human child. They’re lovely and they don’t deserve to be treated the way they do. Go vegan.
